Review:
Dark Kiss was one of those books That had my attention from the very 1st page. I especially liked how Michelle Rowen created these evil creatures then added in angels and demons to fight them. I thought that the story was quite original as well as very engaging. It was a really great read.
The main character Samantha has been hurt in the past so when she gets a chance to talk to her crush she's hesitant but excited. Their encounter changes Sam's life forever and not in a good way. While walking home Sam meets a boy who she thinks is a street kid, Bishop. She decides to help him out since she feels bad for him. After meeting Bishop her life becomes even more complicated. Samantha is introduced to a world that she didn't know existed and is very reluctant to believe is real. But as the evidence starts to add up Sam can no longer deny the truth. Sam is an ordinary girl but she's also strong, and brave, willing to do what's right even if it's difficult.
Bishop is on a mission to rid the town of Trinity of evil before it can spread. He's not working alone either, there are angels and demons working together to combat the evil that threatens everyone, including them. Bishop comes to realize that there is something special about Samantha and he needs her more than he want to. I thought Bishop was an interesting character. He's funny, charming, and extremely protective but not possessive. He's struggling on his mission but he's determined to do what he was sent to do even if it's proving to be harder than he ever imagined.
I loved the story Michelle Rowen created in Dark Kiss. It was compelling as well as very entertaining. I became invested in the characters, I wanted them to succeed at what they were trying to accomplish. I also liked that I wasn't quite sure what was going on until the information was revealed. The suspense kept up throughout the book which is always a plus. I can't wait to read Wicked Kiss. I'm definitely looking forward to finding out more about these characters and their world.
Cover:
I love this cover!! The blue background as well as the city behind the angel with his massive black wings looks amazing. Plus I love how the cover model is brooding.

"I pulled him even closer, changing our positions so he was the one against the wall. I had to stand on my tiptoes to keep kissing him, my hands now sliding up into his hair...I'd never experienced anything so satisfying in my life, anything so good, so sweet and intoxicating. I never wanted to stop kissing him." SWOON #YABound
