This week my Swoon is from Spark by Brigid Kemmerer. I really enjoyed this book. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I'm definitely a Gabriel fan!
"The addictive pull of his mouth almost had her crawling into his lap. Her hands bunched in his shirt, pulling him closer. His fingers didn't venture higher, but teased along the edge of her skirt, brushing against her so lightly that she almost couldn't stand it. She'd never thought anyone would touch her this way--she's never wanted anyone to touch her this way. But now that he was being so careful, the building heat in her body made her want to rip all her clothes off...Layne always rolled her eyes in health class when they talked about hormones getting out of control. But right now, she could barely remember her name." SWOON#YABound
I loved this scene!! If you have a Swoon leave a link so I can check it out:)

Spark (Elemental, #2)
"Gabriel stared, having no idea what to say. And in that moment of silence, she picked up her backpack and rounded the corner, without once looking back."

"No one could be alive in here. He could barely recognize the normal shapes of furniture. Everything was ablaze."

Brigid Kemmerer, Spark (Elemental #2), pgs 35 & 88

A Fractured Light (A Beautiful Dark, #2)

My Most Anticipated Release of the Week is: A Fractured Light (A Beautiful Dark #2). I read an ARC of book one so it seems like I've had to wait forever to find out what happens in book two. I have a ton of questions so hopefully they will be answered in A Fractured Light. Book one, A Beautiful Dark had a cliffhanger ending and I'll finally get the chance to see how things play out.

A Fractured Light, Jocelyn Davies, Expected publication: September 25, 2012, HarperTeen, Hardcover, 352 pgs

Skye returns home, but with the knowledge of who she really is, nothing can ever be the same. This week my Swoon is from Glitch, by Heather Anastasiu.

"My fingers traced up his shoulder and then over the soft ski of his neck. I felt his skin warm and his pulse quicken at the touch of my fingertips, responding in a way that was totally different from logic and programmed electrical impulses. I kept going, awed by the growing sense of connection, the feel of his curly hair at the base of his neck, the way his breath ruffled my eyelashes." SWOON #YABound

That's what made me Swoon this week. What had you Swooning?

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)
"Cinder shuddered but didn't resit as it grabbed her right wrist and inserted the needle. She flinched, watching as dark liquid, almost black in the android's yellow light, was pulled up into the syringe. She was not afraid of needles, but the world began to tilt"

Marissa Meyer, Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1), pg 55
I haven't actually started reading Cinder yet, I intend to start it after I finish this post. My sister read it and really liked it, so it should be good!

Most Anticipated (4)

Cursed

My Most Anticipated Release of the Week is: Cursed by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I've been seeing this one around for awhile and I think it sounds like a very interesting read. I have loved every book of hers that I have read. Loved may be an understatement. Daemon, anyone?  I can't wait to get my hands on this one.

Cursed, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Expected Publication: September 18, 2012, Spencer Hill Press, Hardcover: 288pgs

Summary:
Dying sucks-- and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out.

However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't? But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not have been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.(Goodreads)

Cover Reveal: Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe

Fireblood ( Fireblood #1)
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Expected Publication Date: October 2013
There you have it, the cover for Trisha Wolfe's Bloodfire! I don't know about you but I'll definitively be adding it to my to-read list. It also sounds intense. I can't wait to meet Zara and find out what her world is all about.
Book Description:
To save a kingdom, Zara must choose between a prince who could be the answer and a rising rebellion that threatens to take control.

When Zara Dane is chosen to marry Prince Sebastian Hart, son of the man who ordered her father’s capture, Zara knows she must fight to save everything she loves from ruin.

Being betrothed to the prince means a life trapped behind the towering stone walls of the Camelot-forged realm. Under the watchful eye of the prince's first knight, Sir Devlan Capra, changing her future becomes difficult.

When an unlikely rebel reveals the truth about the deadly secrets that fuel King Hart’s twisted world, Zara’s path to rescue her father becomes clouded by deception. The Rebels clear her path by forcing Zara’s hand with an ultimatum: sway Prince Sebastian to join the Rebels, convincing him of his father’s evil nature, or they will take him out.

But Zara is uncertain about a future under the Rebels’ command and where the prince’s heart truly lies. She must decide who to trust, what to believe, and what she’s truly fighting for before the king destroys all of Karm, including her heart.

"This time I did wrap my arms around his neck. I met him on raised toes and melted into him. I breathed his breath and tasted the essence of him. He was the heat of a fire and the sweetness of the moon I'd only just met." SWOON #YABound

Storm (Elemental, #1)

"Chris glanced at the house, watching the dark upstairs windows for any sign of movement. They were rolling down the driveway in neutral, the headlights off, but any moment the porch lights could flare to life and Michael would come flying out of the house."

Most Anticipated (3)

Flesh & Bone (Benny Imura, #3)

My Most Anticipated Release of the Week is: Flesh & Bone by Jonathan Maberry. I've had the first book on my shelf for a while but I really, really want to read it. Now that Flesh & Bone is coming out it seems like a good time to start this series  Plus it's about zombies and Halloween is just around the corner. What a good time to delve into this book.

Flesh & Bone (Benny Imura #3), Jonathan Maberry
Expected Publication: September 11, 2012

Summary:
Reeling from the tragic events of Dust & Decay, Benny Imura and his friends plunge deep into the zombie-infested wastelands of the great Rot & Ruin. Benny, Nix, Lilah and Chong journey through a fierce wilderness that was once America, searching for the jet they saw in the skies months ago. If that jet exists then humanity itself must have survived…somewhere. Finding it is their best hope for having a future and a life worth living.

But the Ruin is far more dangerous than any of them can imagine. They are hunted by fierce animals escaped from zoos and circuses. They must raid zombie-infested towns for food and medical supplies. They discover the very real truth in the old saying: In the Rot & Ruin…everything wants to kill you.

And what is happening to the zombies? Swarms of them are coming from the east, devouring everything in their paths. These zoms are different. Faster, smarter, infinitely more dangerous. Has the zombie plague mutated, or is there something far more sinister behind this new invasion of the living dead?

In Flesh & Bone, Benny Imura, Nix Riley, Lou Chong and Lilah the Lost Girl are pitted against dangers greater than anything they've ever faced. To survive, each of them must rise to become the warriors Tom trained them to be.(Goodreads)

WHY (20)

This week the question I have been thinking about is, WHY do I publish my posts at different times?
There are several reasons why I have varying post times. First, I am crazy lazy and do everything the day before. I'm also busy but mostly it's procrastination. Sometimes I barely have a post finished before 6 in the morning which means I'll post it around then. I'm a total night owl so staying up that late is not even an issue.
Second, if I'm participating in a meme I'll try and have my post published at around midnight. That doesn't always work, as I mentioned above, I have procrastination issues. With memes like Teaser Tuesday or Swoon Thursdays it isn't too difficult to find what I want to post. There are times however especially with Swoon Thursdays when the book I am reading is not particularly swoony. Then I have to go back to a previous read and find something that swooned me. Which of course means a delay in writing my post.
Lastly, I try to publish all my posts at 4 in the morning. Why? I have no clue. It's just the time I went with. It doesn't always work but occasionally I am able to get things done ahead of time. Because of my last minute posting I tend to not have anything ready when my day gets hectic. So on some days I don't post at all. But I refuse to get too stressed out about those days. I love blogging but it's fr fun and I want to try and keep it that way.
When do you publish your posts? Do you have a scheduled time or post them whenever they are written?

Review of "Anna Dressed in Blood" by Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1)
Publication Date: July 3, 2012
Publisher: Tor Teen
Paperback: 316 pgs
Summary:
Cas Lowood is just your average boy, who just happens to travel from town to town killing the dead. After his father is murdered Cas inherits the grisly, dark job of hunting down ghosts who prey on the living. Cas receives a tip from a trusted source which leads him to a new town in search of, Anna Dressed in Blood. Anna isn't what he thought, shes strong and filled with a deadly rage. Cas will have to use all his skills in order to survive.
Review:
Anna Dressed in Blood is a dark tale about a boy with an unusual job. Cas is focused on the here and now, therefore his future really isn't something he thinks too much about. He rolls into a new town, finds the information he needs, kills the ghost and moves on. He lives a lonely life but seems to be okay with it, he has his mom, and his dads old contacts. Through Cas we get an inside look into why ghosts need to be killed.
We are introduced to a few of the characters that Cas interacts with. Cas's mom is a witch, though we don't learn a lot about what she can do. She picks up and goes where the ghosts are so her son can hunt ghosts. The two seem to have a strong relationship, his mom is supportive of her son and helps him as much as she can. We meet a few of Cas's new classmates and get a chance to see how Cas goes about getting information from them. He ends up hanging out with a couple of his classmates more than he would have expected.
The setting was just eerie enough so that I totally believed the town could be haunted. I was also a fan of reading from a males POV, which is something I don't do often. Though it would have been interesting to see what Anna was thinking during her interactions with Cas. All and all, Anna Dressed in Blood was a great story that had me wanting to know more about Cas and his world. I'm definitely looking forward to reading Girl of Nightmares
Cover:
I really like this cover. The gray and white house in the background is creepy. Anna looks haunting with her flowing hair and bloody white dress. I think this cover fits nicely with what the book is about. Very Nice!

Darkness Comes This Way (The Guardians of the Night #1)

"Blood was everywhere. Splashed upon the walls, a dark scarlet stained the white carpet as the color of her destruction stood out around her. At her feet, lay three bodies. Her eyes were wild with a raging hunger she couldn't contain…and a small, dark voice was laughing maniacally through her thoughts."
