Writing issues

I fully intended to have my review for If I Die posted today. I have it written and everything but I haven't typed it yet. For some reason it is much easier for me to write it out in a notebook first and then edit as I type it up.

When I first started blogging I typed my reviews as the thoughts came to me. But I found I spent a lot of my time staring at a nearly blank screen and wondering what now. I would get completely frustrated as I sat and stared and my thoughts remained blank, well at least as far as the review was concerned. When I started to use a notebook instead I realized that I found that my thoughts flowed a little easier. It might be because this is how I have always done most of my writing. I write it out long hand then type it up when I am done. I also found that if I write the review immediately after I read the book it much easier to sum up I how I felt about what I just read.

What I really need to learn to do is type up all my reviews and schedule them before hand instead of waiting until the night before I post them to type them. As it is I have two reviews written but not typed. In other words I need to get myself organized.

How do you write your reviews?

  1. I always write my reviews out on paper..sometimes several sheets depending on how much I scratch out LOL. I have tried to just type up the reviews and I cant seem to do it. Like you I just stare at the screen..Call me crazy but there is just something about putting pen to paper that seems to help

    1. Yeah, it just makes the words flow and I don't get as frustrated when I use paper to write everything out.
Glad to see I'm not that only one who stares blankly at the screen hoping inspiration will strike but it never does.
